Black Teas
Darjeeling, Assam, Ceylon, English Breakfast - all these are Black Teas. But each is different. Darjeeling, the "champagne of tea" is as different from Assam as Chardonnay is from Chablis. Although they all begin as fresh green leaf, black teas get their dark color through a specific tea manufacturing process. A crucial step - oxidation - is essential for tea to be termed Black Tea. We've categorized our Black Teas by Origin and Name so you can find your selection quickly.
Black teas can be straight (Varietals) or flavored. Very well-known blends such as English Breakfast can be found in the section called Breakfast Teas/House Blends.
